Doane 和 Saline County Relay for Life raised over $30,000
On Friday, April 5, the annual Doane 和 Saline County Relay for Life was held in Fuhrer Fieldhouse. 卡罗尔·麦克1982年, assistant professor of practice in education, 詹尼·斯基利特(19岁), ’23A, senior executive assistant to the president, were invited to speak at the event as cancer survivors.
In total, the academic year-long fundraiser raised $31,113.06, with donations accepted through June 2024. 2024年的目标是3.5万美元.
Thirty teams created by Doane staff, 校友, members of Greek Life 和 student-led organizations, 和 Saline County residents helped collect donations. Some teams also carried a baton during the April 5 event (the “relay” in Relay for Life.) The five teams that led fundraising were:

Concert B和 Hosts First Annual B和 Invitational for High Schools
Three Nebraska high schools were invited to perform at the first annual 十大网络娱乐平台注册 B和 Invitational on Saturday, 4月6日，在克里特岛校区. Each ensemble played the music of composer Dr. Nicole Piunno, this year's guest artist for the event. Piunno provided clinics for each ensemble prior to the event, helping them portray the meaning 和 emotion behind her music.

4月4日， Dr. 罗杰·休斯 joined members of the 林肯 business community to attend a congressional report event held by the 林肯 Chamber of Commerce. 该活动邀请了Sen. Pete Ricketts, who spoke about important issues to our community at the federal level.

星期四早上, 4月11日, five Doane students made presentations showcasing 数学 和 data analytics projects to faculty 和 校友. The Symposium in 本科 Mathematics is an annual event held at Doane.
- 高级 Zekiel Krejci-Hyde presented “Building a Shelf Space Optimization Program.这是他们研究的一部分, Krejci-Hyde created a computer program to help libraries optimize shelf spacing.
- 高级 约旦亨氏 presented “Mastery-Based Learning in Middle & 高中数学课堂.” Heinz shared a literature review of the use of mastery-based learning within education 和 an analysis of Nebraska middle 和 high school math teachers’ assessment 和 grading practices.
- 高级 特雷弗梅 presented “Relationship Between High School Sport Success 和 Median Income.” Mai examined the relationship between a county’s median income 和 the success of high school football 和 volleyball teams in that county.
- 老年人 马修不 和 扎克·佩雷斯 presented “Navier-Stokes with Computational Fluid Dynamics.” They shared the history of the Navier-Stokes equation, which is used to assess flow in 和 around objects 和 created flow simulations using the equation for an airfoil, 球和高尔夫球.
